Regional Engagement Map

The Regional Engagement Map will be a living network a way to see who’s working together across San Diego to advance relationship-based environmental learning.
It highlights the 18 Tribal Nations of the region, key nonprofit and school partners, and the ecosystems connecting them  from coast to desert.

As partnerships deepen, the map will grow to include TK educators, project stories, and shared tools, helping others learn how to collaborate respectfully with Indigenous communities and the lands that sustain us.

Rooted in Respect
Resource Hub

Rooted in Respect is a regional initiative co-created by Indigenous and non-Tribal partners to strengthen relationship-based environmental learning across San Diego County.

Developed in partnership by Un Mar de Colores, Indigenous Regeneration, and The Queer Soul Collective, with support from The San Diego Foundation’s Thrive Outside Initiative.

Rooted in Respect is grounded in the ancestral lands of the Kumeyaay Nation, whose people continue to live, learn, and care for this region since time immemorial. We honor their ongoing stewardship, and the 18 Tribal Nations of what is now called San Diego County.

May this work continue to honor the lands, waters, and communities that make learning possible.
